風土記の丘公園
Over 100 burial mounds or kofun are preserved in this 29-hectare park, the densest concentration of burial mounds in Osaka Prefecture.
Fudoki no Oka Park in southern Osaka Prefecture preserves over 100 burial mounds within 29 hectares, more kofun per area than anywhere else in the prefecture. About 40 mounds are accessible, and some have their internal chambers open to explore on foot. The Chikatsu-Asuka Museum, built here in 1994, explains how the mounds were constructed and displays recovered artifacts including bronze mirrors, terracotta haniwa figures, and gilt bronze horse fittings. The park also draws birdwatchers year-round and crowds during spring plum and cherry blossom season and autumn foliage.
