Overview
Candlelit sea caves extending 152m into rock, with Fuji sunset views from the cliff beyond.
At the far southern tip of Enoshima Island, centuries of wave erosion carved two sea caves extending 152 and 56 meters into the rock. Visitors explore by candlelight, passing dragon statues and Shinto altars that mark the spot where Emperor Kinmei enshrined a deity in the 6th century. Beyond the caves, the Chigogafuchi rock shelf offers unobstructed sunset views toward Mount Fuji, selected among Kanagawa's top 50 scenic spots.
