Edo Wonderland Nikko Edomura

Edo Wonderland in Nikko recreates the streets and daily life of the Edo period with considerable attention to detail and a full cast of costumed performers: samurai, ninja, geisha, and merchants all populate the wooden townscape. Shows range from comedic skits to ninja stunt demonstrations, and visitors can rent period costumes to dress as samurai, princesses, or ninja while exploring the buildings and trying hands-on crafts. The ninja maze and haunted temple add some lighthearted energy. About 15 minutes from Nikko's famous UNESCO shrines and temples, it works well as a complement to the area's more solemn historical sites, especially for families with younger children.
