越後丘陵公園
Echigo Hillside Park stretches across 340 hectares on Nagaoka's western edge, divided between a recreational zone in the north and a satoyama natural landscape in the south. The Fragrant Rose Garden contains 2,400 rose bushes across 800 species, and the Flower Garden displays up to 300,000 cosmos blooms each autumn. The Satoyama Field Museum area preserves a restored Edo-period farmhouse alongside traditional agricultural tools and silk production exhibits. In late winter, the park cultivates around 200,000 yukiwariso primroses, among the first flowers to break through the snow and a symbol of Nagaoka.
