Daikakuji

Daikakuji’s main draw is Osawa-no-Ike, Japan's oldest garden pond. For clean reflections on the water, be at the eastern bank by 9 AM before tours arrive. The wooden corridors linking the halls have “nightingale floors” that squeak by design. Walk slowly to hear the effect.
