Chokurian

Chokurian has been serving handmade soba noodles in Morioka since 1884, making it one of Iwate Prefecture's most storied dining establishments. The restaurant is best known for its Wanko Soba experience, where servers continuously refill small bowls of buckwheat noodles accompanied by an array of condiments including grated daikon, green onion, sesame, and nori. The traditional tatami seating and warm wooden interior transport diners to another era. Arrive early on weekends, as the lunch rush draws both locals and visitors eager to test how many bowls they can finish.
