Overview
Street of preserved samurai houses with exquisite gardens.
Known as the 'Little Kyoto of Satsuma.' Seven samurai gardens are open to the public, designed with borrowed scenery of the surrounding mountains. The street is lined with manicured hedges and stone walls, looking exactly as it did in the Edo period.
