One of Takamatsu's most celebrated self-service udon shops, where the main draw is the tempura, particularly the legendary half-boiled egg tempura that arrives with a crispy golden shell concealing a perfectly runny yolk inside. The udon itself is excellent, with the firm, chewy texture that defines Sanuki-style noodles, and you customize your bowl by choosing from the bubbling pots and topping trays along the counter. The self-service format keeps prices astonishingly low, with a full meal of udon and several tempura items rarely exceeding a few hundred yen. It is the kind of place where taxi drivers and office workers eat alongside tourists, and that local authenticity is a large part of the appeal.
