万座毛
Iconic scenic cliff formation resembling an elephant's trunk, offering stunning views of the East China Sea.
Cape Manzamo rises 20 meters above the East China Sea on Okinawa's west coast, its coral limestone cliffs sculpted by centuries of ocean erosion into a shape that from certain angles resembles an elephant's trunk. King Sho Kei named the site during a royal visit in 1726, describing the grassy plateau as large enough to seat 10,000 people. The cliff top supports rare native plants designated as a Natural Monument. A tourist facility opened in 2020 offers a free third-floor observation deck with panoramic views. A 100-yen conservation fee applies. Sunset is the most popular time to visit.
