Overview
Full-scale Edo streetscapes with hands-on kimono dressing, senbei grilling, and craft workshops.
This experiential museum recreates entire Edo-period streetscapes, samurai residences, townhouses, farmhouses, and merchant shops, across rolling Chiba countryside. Unlike static exhibits, visitors participate: try on kimono, make senbei on charcoal grills, carve chopsticks, or practice calligraphy with volunteer guides in period costume. The scale and interactivity exceed most open-air museums, yet few international visitors know it exists.
