Boroboro Falls

母衣暮露滝
30-meter waterfall splitting into delicate threads over mossy rock, framed by autumn maples in Yoshinogawa.
Picturesque waterfall tucked into the forested mountains of Yoshinogawa in Tokushima Prefecture. The falls drop approximately 30 meters down a mossy rock face, splitting into delicate threads of water that catch the light filtering through the canopy above. A short hiking trail leads to the base of the falls, passing through dense cedar and cypress forest that feels wonderfully secluded. The surrounding area is especially scenic in late autumn when the maples along the trail turn vivid shades of orange and crimson. The falls are accessible by car from central Tokushima in about an hour, and make a peaceful half-day excursion combined with a visit to the nearby Yoshinogawa valley.
