Bihoro Pass Lookout
viewpoint
美幌峠展望台
Best panoramic view of Lake Kussharo's caldera.
Perched 525 meters above sea level, Bihoro Pass offers a breathtaking 360-degree view of Japan's largest caldera lake, Lake Kussharo. In the early morning during summer and autumn, a 'sea of clouds' often fills the basin. It is a popular spot for stargazing and seeing the first sunrise of the year, yet remains less crowded than the viewpoints at Lake Mashu.
