Baeren Brewery Taproom

Baeren imports a century-old copper kettle from Germany and brews classic European styles rarely found in Japan's craft beer scene, think Dortmunder, Schwarz, and proper Altbier alongside seasonal specials. The taproom in the Kitayama neighborhood pours fresh tank beer that never leaves the prefecture. Their Classic lager has won gold at the International Beer Competition multiple times, yet the brewery remains almost unknown outside Iwate.
