有馬温泉 金の湯
Famous public bathhouse featuring Arima's unique iron-rich 'Gold Water' in a historic setting.
Kin-no-yu is the most prominent public bathhouse in Arima Onsen, one of Japan’s three oldest hot spring towns. It is famous for its 'Kinsen' (Gold Water), which is a dark reddish-brown color due to high iron and salt content. The water is carbonated and significantly saltier than seawater, believed to be effective for skin ailments and muscle pain. The facility is modern but maintains a traditional aesthetic. It offers two main indoor baths of different temperatures. Outside the main building, there is a free footbath (ashiyu) and a drinking fountain for the mineral water. It serves as a central hub for visitors exploring the narrow, historic slopes of the Arima district.
The water is highly concentrated with iron; be careful as it can permanently stain light-colored towels orange.
