Appikogen

Appi Kogen is a large highland resort in the Hachimantai mountains of Iwate, sitting at around 800 to 900 meters elevation where the seasons arrive with particular clarity. In winter, consistent snowfall covers a ski area with wide groomed runs and off-piste terrain. Summer brings hiking trails through highland meadows, and the golf courses open to mountain views. Year-round, the resort has onsen facilities fed by local geothermal springs. The scale of the resort makes it self-contained for a two or three night stay in Tohoku.
