Amidaji

Known locally as 'Hydrangea Temple,' Amidaji earns its nickname from the stunning display of over 80 varieties and 4,000 hydrangea plants that carpet the hillside grounds each June. Blooms in shades of purple, blue, pink, and white create one of western Japan's most spectacular early summer flower displays. Beyond hydrangea season, the temple's hilltop grounds offer peaceful garden walks and views over the city of Hofu.
