A small island about 20 minutes by ferry from Shingu Port, home to roughly 150 free-roaming cats and a handful of residents. The 5-kilometer coastal loop passes fifth-century stone tumuli, an offshore rock formation called Megane-iwa (Glasses Rock), and a quiet fishing harbor. Cats greet arrivals at the port regardless of weather.
