愛知県陶磁美術館
Japan's largest ceramics museum set in a forest, tracing 10,000 years of pottery from Jomon to contemporary art.
Located in the historic pottery city of Seto, this expansive museum houses over 7,000 works spanning Japanese and world ceramic history. The collection ranges from prehistoric Jomon earthenware to Momoyama tea bowls and modern art ceramics. Set in a wooded hillside, the museum includes outdoor kilns, a hands-on pottery studio, and rotating exhibitions. Seto gave its name to 'setomono', the Japanese word for ceramics.
Book the hands-on pottery experience (reservation needed). You can make your own Seto-yaki piece and have it shipped to your accommodation after firing.
