堀川遊覧船
A tiny flat-bottomed boat ride through Matsue's castle moat where you duck under bridges, literally.
These small boats cruise the 3.7km moat surrounding Matsue Castle, passing samurai district walls, willow-lined canals, and stone bridges so low that the roof folds down and passengers must lie flat. In winter, boats have kotatsu heated tables. The 50-minute circuit reveals a side of Matsue invisible from the streets.
